Fitted Mattress Protectors

Five sides, elastic all the way round, and it goes on the way a fitted sheet goes on.

This is the cover most people mean when they say they want to protect a mattress. It sits over the top and down the four sides, the skirt grips underneath, and the sheet goes over it. Nothing zips shut, so the underside of the mattress stays open to the room.

That open underside is the trade. A fitted protector takes a spilled drink, a wet nappy, sweat and the dog, and it comes off in one motion when you need the machine. It will not seal anything in, and if the reason you are shopping is bed bugs, the department you want is the zippered one.

Sizes run Crib, Standard, Twin, Twin XL, Full, Full XL, Queen, King and California King, and the skirt on the 38 deepest models is cut for a mattress with a topper on it.

SafeRest makes bedding barriers in two shapes. SafeRest fitted mattress protectors go on like a fitted sheet and take the spill. SafeRest zippered encasements zip closed on all six sides and seal. Between them we cover 9 bed sizes and 50 products.

Working through a problem rather than a product? Our guide to five sides or six sets the two shapes side by side with the federal wording on covers that seal. The SafeRest guide to depth and fit explains why a zip that will not close is a measuring error rather than a manufacturing one, and the dust mite guide covers the washing half of the job.

The rest of the bed matters too: SafeRest pillow protectors for the item that touches a face all night, SafeRest box spring encasements for the hollow wooden base underneath, and SafeRest padded protectors where a mattress has gone hard and needs some loft back.
